Announcement: Causes of Hemorrhoids and Piles | Top 8 Causes of Piles

Causes of Hemorrhoids

Causes of Hemorrhoids

What are the causes hemorrhoids or piles is a very common question requested by numerous people stricken with hemorrhoids or piles. Piles are likely triggered by diet and when you strain on the toilet. Really, both of these factors are linked: eating bad food results in constipation, which results in you straining to have a bowel movement.

Causes of Hemorrhoids

It’s been recommended the Western diet, that is wealthy in processed food and missing in fiber is one of the many causes of hemorrhoids. Indeed, hemorrhoids and piles are rare in less-developed African nations in which the weight loss program is wealthy in roughage and fiber. Because the population during these nations change their diet program to incorporate more processed food, the incidence of hemorrhoids and piles increase.

Other causes of hemorrhoids is the design of the modern toilet. So many people use their time sitting on the toilet as a time to escape.

How many times have you gone into the bathroom and sit on the toilet for prolong periods of time? For many of us, our time on the toilet let’s us take a break from the world around us. Many people also read while having a bowel movement.  This process just add undue pressure towards the rectal veins.

The causes of hemorrhoids: Avoid straining when on the toilet and take care of your business and get out.

Sitting on the toilet for prolong periods of time may also cause hemorrhoids or piles, because it causes the pelvic floor muscles to unwind and also the rectal muscles to strain.

Did you know that sitting on the toilet robs our hemorrhoidal area of all the support the pelvic muscles have to give? This insufficient support is frequently among the hidden reasons for piles.

One method to circumvent this really is to place your feet on a little footstool when you are sitting on the toilet. This technique permit you to make use of a modern sitting toilet while getting some muscular support in the pelvic floor rather than letting gravity simply have free rein together with your hemorrhoids.

Additional factors that causes hemorrhoids include aging, genetics, bouts of diarrhea, using laxatives. For ladies, pregnancy is frequently an issue because the fetus puts pressure around the piles veins.

Fortunately, more often than not, hemorrhoids or piles self-heal. Which means that unless of course you need to do something to result in outbreaks (i.e. still strain when defecating or have chronic constipation or diarrhea) most piles resolve themselves with no intervention.

However, the destabilized walls from the distended veins in piles will make it be vulnerable to future outbreaks. For this reason people say after you have hemorrhoids or piles, you’ll always them.

4. Hurrying to accomplish a bowel movement. Rushing can result in excessive pushing and increase pressure on rectal veins.

5. Persistent diarrhea or constipation, which might cause pushing and increase pressure on veins within the rectal canal.

6. Being obese. Excess fat, mainly in the abdomen and pelvis, may increase pressure on pelvic veins.

7. Pregnancy – Regrettably, the additional weight and pressure placed on the rectum throughout pregnancy is among the major reasons of piles throughout pregnancy.

Your Questions About How Much Can Hemorrhoids Bleed

Sharon asks…

How much bleeding can come from hemorrhoids.?

A few days ago I saw my roommate wiping a lot of blood off her legs and her body. There was also a lot of blood on the floor and all over the toilet seat. There was also some blood in the hallway. She cleaned up some of it but not all. I could smell blood in the bathroom and had to open the window as I cleaned up. It made me sick. I confronted her about it and suggested she go to the emergency room but she refused. She told me it was just a bleeding hemorrhoid. That seemed like an awful lot of blood from a hemorrhoid. Also I’ve seen a lot of blood on the front of the toilet and in front of the toilet and I don’t think that’s where blood from a hemorrhoid would land.
My roommate is in her 80s

Laura asks…

How do i treat/get rid of a thrombosed hemorrhoid?

It’s about the size of a pinto bean and there’s a blot clot on it. It has recently stopped bleeding so much, but now i can‘t push it back in ! it’s not really painful as much as it’s annoying and gross. What do i do?? Do i need to go to the doctor or let it heal? ANY advice…please!!!

StopHemorrhoids answers:

You might not need to go back to the doc.
Do not strain when you go to the toilet – you can apply, very gently, some type of hydrocortisone ointment 1% – or hemorrhoid medicine for the pain.
(I have dealt with these types of hemorrhoid problems off and on for many years)
However, if the bleeding starts again – you really should be seen by your doc. – bleeding hemorrhoids can cause anemia over time.
There are quite a few new treatments for hemorrhoids, that didn’t used to be available some years ago.
Just be very gentle with your toilet habits .

Edit – Just give it a week and see if it resolves on its own.
If not, and it is still bothersome – see your doc.
A lot of them resolve on their own.

Michael asks…

How bad is my hemorrhoids?

Ok ok, this is a rather embarrassing topic.
I have hemorrhoids. I had It for a year, and It bleed only once.(not severely). They only they pop out when I’m pushing bowl moments. My hemorrhoids don’t bother me much, I don’t feel pain much I have a good diet now.
Will My hemorrhoids eventually get worse, even though I’m taking care of it?
Is it something that will constantly grow no matter what? Or would they stay the same?
Can I live the rest of my life with my hemorrhoids condition staying not severe?

Thanks you for your time.

StopHemorrhoids answers:

I’ve had hemorrhoids for going on 10 years now. They will act up every now and then with a BM, but that’s probably going to be about the worst of it. They won’t get worse. They won’t keep growing. You can have them removed, but it isn’t necessary. Majority of the time, there are no problems. If you can handle them now, you should be fine. Mine have actually gotten better as opposed to worse. They act up less than they used to, they don’t get big like they used to… Try not to push when making a BM, as that can cause them to act up. Witch Hazel pads are great for easing discomfort (although if your ‘roid has ruptured at all, and is bleeding, then witch hazel might burn). Preparation H doesn’t help me at all, nor do most OTC hemorrhoid meds. The b est adv ice I can give to ease them when they hurt is either a cool washcloth to reduce swelling or a sitz bath. If you don’t have a sitz bath, you can just sit in a tub (use lukewarm to warm water, not hot). Also, pick up a donut from the local pharmacy for if they ever make sitting uncomfortable. You probably won’t use this, I never do, but I do like knowing I have one.

Anyway, the entire point of this is that they probably won’t get worse, although they will never go away.

Maria asks…

slowly killing myself???????

okay so I have been addicted to laxatives for a while now… it started out just having 3 a day but about a week ago I started taking 5 throughout the day- I now have hemorrhoids and realize I need to stop really bad its just so hard.

I haven’t gone to the doctors about this or talked to anyone about it, my mom was suspicious for a while and asked me if I was addicted to laxatives and I just acted really insulted and disgusted she would suggest that. She told me about how my grandma was addicted for a while and I just said I wasn’t

anyway I am back down to taking three a day and trying to cut back on them slowly- because I did once stop completely for four days (I gained three pounds) started freaking out and got really sad, nervous, and depressed so I started up again.

The hemorrhoids are getting better and I am not bleeding as much as I used to but its still pretty painful.

I really just want to be thin. I hate this so much. I want help before I kill my body but I can‘t ask for it or do anything its just way to embarrassing.

I wish I could sleep for three months and wake up 20 pounds lighter. :/

StopHemorrhoids answers:

Try exercising. I lost 60 lbs rock climbing. I used to weigh 205, now I weigh 143. Eating disorders are the sissy way, do some hard work for a change. You’ll feel better about yourself, plus you’ll be stronger and won’t have hemorrhoids.

Do Not Let Hemorrhoids Stop You, Use These Tips For Relief

Regardless of what your day may hold, it is sure that hemorrhoids will complicate it. You can use the tips in this article to learn what causes hemorrhoids, how to avoid them and how to properly treat them if they have developed. While your personal suffering may seem horrendous at times, a number of methodologies and treatment options are at your disposal for inclusion in your hemorrhoid coping regimen.

A long-term, effective solution to help prevent uncomfortable, irritating, painful hemorrhoids is to merely adopt a high-fiber diet. Try eating more leafy greens, pastas, oatmeal and whole grain breads. Fiber helps your bowels move and helps to reduce straining that can lead to hemorrhoids.

You can lessen the chance that you will develop external hemorrhoids by paying some extra attention to your hygiene routines for that area of your body. Using a combination of quality soft toilet tissue that does not break, and moistening wipes after each bowel movement, can be effective.

Blood Vessels

A commercially available product for hemorrhoids can be purchased under the brand name of Rutin. Sometimes hemorrhoids appear as a result of blood vessels that are not very strong. If you have hemorrhoids, you should avoid using products that contain dyes, oils and fragrance as they may exacerbate your condition. Even minimal exposure to one of these substances may cause the hemorrhoid to burn or itch.

One common cause of recurrent hemorrhoids is a failure to consume enough water. More water in your diet will make your stools much softer. Another tip that will help you is by decreasing the caffeine and alcohol that you drink.

Add lemon to your water if you are experiencing hemorrhoids. There are chemicals in lemons which help to soothe the discomfort and irritation of hemorrhoids. Lemon water can improve how you feel.

You can reduce hemorrhoids and its side effects by losing weight. People who are obese are at a higher risk for developing hemorrhoids. Excess weight can put extra pressure on your stomach; in addition, if you overeat, excess waste products increase pressure in the veins in your anus–the place where hemorrhoids develop. You want to try and lose weight, so eat foods high in fiber so you can take some of this pressure from your body. Remember, don’t be tempted to speed your weight loss or deal with your hemorrhoids by using laxatives.

If you are suffering from constipation, go for a walk prior to using the bathroom. The physical activity of walking stimulates your body and may make it easier to have a bowel movement. This will help you not to have to strain as you have a movement, reducing your risk of hemorrhoids or the condition getting worse. Walk for approximately 10-15 minutes at as quick of a pace as possible.

Drink plenty of water. When your body is dehydrated, it starts to grab water from your stool. The result is stool that is too hard to pass and it can be painful when you go to the bathroom. This condition can be alleviated by staying properly hydrated and drinking the proper amounts of water every day.

Spicy Foods

Do not drink caffeine or consume spicy foods. Foods like this aggravate your intestines, and this can have a negative impact on your hemorrhoids. Eating spicy foods even cause your hemorrhoids to get inflamed, and burn you all the time.

Laxatives aren’t a cure for hemorrhoids, there are simply a quick fix. While laxatives are great to help you alleviate constipation once or twice, they do not cure hemorrhoids.
